Perhaps you are looking to avoid the crowd and traffic during an event. Or the opposite, perhaps a certain event caught your interest and you want to align your travel schedule with it. Either way, below you can find a summary table of key Oregon festivals/shows that should come in handy. The exact dates change each year of course - simply click on the linked websites, they typically display the date(s) for the current year right on the main page.
Event | Location | Website | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival | Woodburn | Typically occurs in early Spring | |
Oregon International Air Show | Hillsboro or McMinneville | All stunt aircrafts, including fighter jets, are very very very loud. Pack earplugs. | |
Oregon Shakespeare Festival | Ashland | ||
Oregon State Fair | Salem | ||
Waterfront Blues Festival | Portland | ||
World Naked Bike Ride | Portland | Yes, you can spectate. No, you can't take photos, obviously. Yes, you can participate without being 'naked naked'. | |
Oregon Country Fair | Neveta | ||
Portland Pride Festival | Portland | While the festival typically happens in Summer, they host many other smaller events. You can check them out at https://portlandpride.org/2025-portland-pride-official-events. | |
Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest | Cannon Beach | ||
Corgi Beach Takeover | Seaside | Even without purchasing the ticket and participating yourself, simply by walking around the town you'll be able to see many (so many) corgis. |
Lastly I wanted to let you know about an outdoor concert series called 'In a Landscape'. If you like piano pieces but find traditional concert halls uptight or stuffy, I highly recommend you check this one out. Hunter Noack, an Oregonian pianist, travels all over the west coast with his piano and plays outdoors. This lets the audience immerse themselves in the music while the wind brushed their hair and the sun shines on their faces. His travel schedule changes each year as you can imagine - visit https://inalandscape.org/events/#events?=upcoming-events to check if there is any overlap with your travel timing/location. If you do snag a ticket and go, it's a good idea to bring a camping chair or some other thing to sit on.
